Of Sound Body and Mind was founded on the belief that sound is one of nature's most profound healing tools. Every cell in your body vibrates at its own frequency — and when life pulls us out of balance, sound can gently guide us back.
Our sessions are designed as complementary therapy — a supportive companion to your existing health care, rather than a replacement. We create a safe, nurturing space where your body can rest deeply and your natural healing rhythms can be restored.
Sound healing works alongside your medical treatment to support your body's natural recovery.
We guide you into a state of profound relaxation where healing becomes possible.
When breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure return to balance, your body enters its optimal healing zone.
Every session is tailored to meet you exactly where you are — no two experiences are alike.
Kirsti holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music (1989) and a Master of Music from Brooklyn College Conservatory, CUNY (1994). She became a certified Harp Therapy Practitioner in 2020 through the International Harp Therapy Program, studying with Christina Tourin.
Her path into therapeutic music began in the 2000s, when she and her classical guitarist husband volunteered in the geriatric psychiatric ward at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. That experience ignited a lifelong passion for the healing power of music. She taught voice privately from 1992–2010 and continues to teach harp lessons today.
From 2019–2021, Kirsti served as a Resident Artist for Keeley Healing Arts at New River Valley Medical Center, playing harp at the bedside and in Behavioral Health. She then deepened her sound healing practice, studying with Sounds True artist Tryshe Dhevney and completing her training as a Crystal Bowl Practitioner in 2023.
Kirsti has also studied acupressure with Dr. Michael Reed Gach and Sound Healing with Tuning Forks with Dr. John Beaulieu. She is a Reiki & Karuna Master and weaves all of these modalities together to create deeply personalized, integrative sessions.
Kirsti and her husband Ed Bridge have been part of the New River Valley community since 2005, when they opened Bridge Kaldro Music in Christiansburg. She also volunteers at WUVT, Virginia Tech's college radio station, as host of Hickory Dickory Dock, a beloved radio show for children of all ages. Her therapeutic music background also finds a home in Musicophilia, her eclectic off-season program on WUVT that responds to the moment — weaving together past and present music across genres to reflect on the world as it unfolds.
